Alright, let’s talk about these Yeezy basketball sneakers, or whatever them young folks call ’em. I ain’t no expert, mind you, just tellin’ it like I see it. Heard they’re mighty popular, these shoes.
First off, what are these Yeezy things anyway? Sounds like somethin’ a baby would say, Yeezy! Well, from what I gather, it’s some kinda fancy shoe made by a fella named Kanye, or somethin’ like that. He’s a rapper, they say. Always makin’ noise, just like my old rooster back on the farm.
Now, these “basketball” sneakers, they ain’t like the ones my grandson wears to school. His got those bright colors, you know, red and blue and all that jazz. These Yeezys, they look kinda…different. Some are all gray, like a cloudy day. Others got a little bit of color, but it’s always kinda soft, not shoutin’ at ya.
I saw some pictures online, the young’uns showed me. Some are called “Quantum,” sounds like somethin’ out of a sci-fi movie, ain’t it? They got this wavy pattern on the side, like a river windin’ through the fields. Then there’s these “Frozen Blue” ones, the color of a winter sky before a snowstorm. Pretty, I guess, but are they good for playin’ ball?
- Pricey Shoes: One thing’s for sure, these Yeezys ain’t cheap. Heard tell they cost hundreds of dollars, some even more! Lord have mercy, back in my day, you could buy a whole cow for that kinda money. Why would anyone pay so much for a pair of shoes? Beats me.
- Where to Find ‘Em: Apparently, you can’t just walk into any old store and buy these things. Heard about places called “GOAT” and “StockX.” Sounds like a farm, don’t it? But no, they’re these fancy websites where folks buy and sell sneakers. And then there’s “Stadium Goods,” another one of them city places. Always somethin’ new with these youngsters.
My grandson tells me about another shoe, somethin’ called “Boost 350 V2.” Said it’s green. Green like the grass in my pasture, I reckon. He says folks go crazy for these things, waitin’ in lines and payin’ a fortune. Land sakes, it’s just a shoe! Back in my day, we wore the same pair of boots till they fell apart. But I guess times have changed.
I also heard about some shoes called “Yeezy Boost 750” that came out a long time ago, like in 2015. Folks were payin’ $350 for them back then! That’s a lot of money, even for now, let alone all them years ago. My grandson showed me pictures on his phone, they look like big ol’ boots to me.
So, are these Yeezy basketball sneakers worth all the fuss? I don’t rightly know. They look fancy, I guess, and the young folks seem to like ’em. But me? I’ll stick to my comfy old slippers. At least I know they won’t break the bank.
But if you’re lookin’ to buy these Yeezys, best do your homework. Check them prices, see what folks are sayin’ about ’em. And don’t go spendin’ your life savings on a pair of shoes, now. There’s more important things in life than fancy footwear, that’s for sure.
And one last thing, them “sneakers” look more like boots to me, I seen plenty of good basketball shoes, and them Yeezys sure don’t look like anything I’d want to be wearin’ runnin’ up and down the court. But what do I know? I’m just an old lady, and these newfangled shoes are beyond me.
