Alright, so you wanna know about the fastest serve in tennis, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, these young fellas nowadays, they hit that ball like a dang cannon! Back in my day, we just whacked it over the net, nice and easy. But these guys? They’re somethin’ else.

Unbelievable Fastest Serve Tennis Moments You Must See

I heard tell of this fella, John Isner. They say he smacked one at 249.4 kilometers per hour… now, I ain’t good with all them fancy numbers, but that sounds mighty fast to me! That’s like, what, 155 miles per hour in our old-fashioned talk? Imagine that! A ball flyin’ at ya faster than a car on the highway!

But then, there’s this other guy, Samuel Groth from Australia. Now, this one’s a real humdinger. They clocked him at 263 kilometers per hour… or was it 163.4 miles per hour? Something like that. Anyways, it’s faster than Isner’s! This happened way back in 2012, in some place called Busan. Never heard of it myself, but I reckon they play some serious tennis over there.

You know, it makes ya think. Even that gal, Serena Williams, she’s supposed to be the best ever, but her fastest serve is only 128.3 miles per hour. That’s still fast, mind you, faster than anything I ever saw in person. But these fellas, they got somethin’ special in them arms, I tell ya.

  • John Isner: Around 155 mph
  • Samuel Groth: Around 163 mph
  • Serena Williams: Around 128 mph

And just recently, at that big US Open thing, some young whippersnapper named Ben Shelton, he let one rip at 143 miles per hour. Dang! That’s like a bullet. Too bad he still lost to that Tiafoe fella, but that serve…whew! It’ll make your hair stand on end.

Now, I remember this other fella, Goran somethin’… Goran Ivanisevic, that’s it! He was a big deal back in the day. Won Wimbledon and all that. He used to hit serves around 135 miles per hour. Back then, that was somethin’ to see, I tell ya. But now, it seems like everybody’s hittin’ that hard! These tennis youngsters are getting stronger and stronger.

So, who’s the fastest? Well, from what I hear, it seems like that Samuel Groth fella holds the record. But these records, they keep gettin’ broken. Someone will come along and hit it even harder, you just wait and see. Maybe one day someone hits it 200 mph or somethin’! That’ll be something to see, won’t it?

It makes you wonder, how do they do it? They must eat their Wheaties, I guess. And they practice all day long, swingin’ that racket like it’s an extension of their arm. It’s a lot of hard work, that’s for sure. But when you see that ball flyin’ like a rocket, you know it’s all worth it.

So, there you have it. A little somethin’ about the fastest serves in tennis. It’s a whole different world from when I was young, that’s for sure. But it’s excitin’! It makes ya wanna grab a racket and give it a whack yourself… though I reckon I’d probably just hurt my arm. These youngsters, they’re somethin’ special.

I tell ya what, this tennis serve speed thing is somethin’ else. It’s amazing what these athletes can do. Makes ya feel old just thinkin’ about it. But hey, it’s fun to watch. And maybe, just maybe, we’ll see someone hit it even faster someday. Now that would be a sight to see.
