The boys from Cardinal Newman, they been workin’ hard on that field. Now, I remember just a few years back, they got their very first baseball title. That was a big one, y’know? Folks were so proud, they could hardly believe it. But what happened the very next year? They went and did it again! Yup, they brought home the championship two years in a row, just like that. Some folks say that ain’t never been done before, but them boys didn’t care—one year after the next, they just kept right on playin’ and winnin’.
Now, if ya ask me, the secret to their success ain’t just the skills on the field, though they sure got plenty of that. Nah, it’s the heart. It’s the way they all stick together like family. I reckon it all started back in 2020, when the whole world was turnin’ upside down. Ya know, with that pandemic and all. The boys didn’t let that slow ‘em down. Instead, they spent that summer practicin’ together, gettin’ stronger, faster, and sharper. They knew what they had to do, and they weren’t gonna let nothin’ get in their way.
And you know what? It paid off. When they were down 3-0 in the semifinals this year, most teams would’ve just folded. But not Cardinal Newman! No sir. They came right back, fought tooth and nail, and won the game 5-3. It was a real come-from-behind victory. Makes ya proud to see that kinda spirit. They punched their ticket to the NorCal Division 2 title game, and you just knew they weren’t gonna stop there.
What makes it even sweeter is that they got a bunch of seniors on that team. Nineteen, to be exact! That’s a lot of experience on the field. They been playin’ together for years, and it shows. When you got boys who’ve been workin’ together, fightin’ together, and pushin’ each other, you can’t help but admire ‘em. And ya better believe, they ain’t gonna go down easy this year either. They’re still workin’ hard to finish up strong, and some folks say they might end up as one of the top teams in the whole state! That’s mighty impressive for a school that’s just makin’ a name for itself in the world of baseball.
So, when you hear about Cardinal Newman baseball, just remember—these boys don’t back down. They got their eyes on the prize, and they play like they’re gonna take it all. Year after year, game after game, they keep showin’ what they’re made of. Ain’t no doubt about it: Cardinal Newman baseball is here to stay, and they sure got a bright future ahead of ‘em.
